Marko Gornik, age 78 of Canal Flats, B.C. passed away in Invermere & District Hospital on August 13th, 2019.
Marko was born August 29, 1940 in Zagreb, Croatia. He moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba in 1971. After a year, he moved to Canal Flats. In 1974 he met his wife Judy and they married the following year.
He worked for Crestbrook Forest Industries before purchasing his own equipment and started his logging company. Marko retired from the industry and then worked for School District #6 for many years. He loved his craft of furniture and cabinet maker and all types of carpentry in general, but his real passion was his gardening and family.
Marko is predeceased by his father John, mother Barbara and brother John.
He is survived by his wife Judy, daughters Holly (Doug) & Erin (Ryan), his grandchildren Levi (Sharayah) & Hunter and his great grandson Hudson. His brothers Frank, Joe, Ivan & Peter and sisters Barbara, Anne, Katie and Mary. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
There will be no service by request.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services in Cranbrook.
