Louis passed away suddenly on August 17, 2019 after struggling for several years with dementia and other health issues. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Hanna; his son Pete (Kathy), daughter Cathy, niece Heather (Nolan), his sister Marie Wilkinson, and other relatives.
Born to Natalie and Lena Maggiora in Nanaimo, BC, Louis remained an Island man his whole life. Even his work as a log scaler or rare holidays couldn’t keep him away from “home” for long.
Later years in life were spent collecting old bottles, and anything else that caught his eye. He also tried his hand at farming and gardening.
