Obituary of Lorne Morris Allain
July 19, 1960 – August 13, 2019
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lorne at the age of 59. He passed peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Grande Prairie, AB
Lorne was born in Grande Prairie, AB and moved to Edmonton, AB with his family at an early age where he attended the Winnifred Stewart School. He also lived in Victoria & Hope, BC, finally moving back to Grande Prairie, AB where he grew up and attended Crystal Park School.
Later in his adult years he married Colleen Kroetch & spent many years with her until they separated. During the past 26 years Lorne resided with his caregivers, Murray & Kim Olson, who will miss him greatly. Lorne loved music, dancing & movies, had many friends and was a loving and caring individual. Lorne had long-standing employment with Swan Industries through Signature Support Services.
Lorne is survived by his brothers Larry (Juliette)Mabley and Jack Mabley, sister Barbara Allain, niece Kimberly Mabley, nephew Cody (Chantelle) Mabley, nieces Giselle L’Heureux and Claudette Niezen as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Rosalie Yarkowski, brother Ed Mabley, niece Pamela Mabley, nephew Forrest Mabley, aunt Margaret Halliday and uncle Charlie St. Germaine.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at Bear Creek Funeral Home 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 pm. Please stop by to share memories of Lorne over a warm coffee and a snack.
