John William Alexander Maxwell

Passed unexpectedly on Wednesday August 21, 2019 in Orillia in his 84th year. John, loving husband to Marilyn, will be sadly missed by his son Robert (Joanne) and his daughter Katharine “Kerry”. John will also be missed by his grandchildren Sydney and Alex. John is predeceased by his brother Richard and by his half-sisters Kate Barnes and Florence Maxwell. John liked to golf with his Romeos and was a long-time volunteer at the Library. John was a very active member of St. James Anglican Church and the Probus Club of Orillia. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. A huge thank you to the OPP, Hawkestone Volunteer Fire Department and the ambulance staff who arrived swiftly and in great numbers. Also to the doctors and nurses in the OSMH emergency, Soldiers 1 and RVH cardiac intervention unit. You are all amazing. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595 on Friday September 6, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m.. A memorial service will take place at St. James Anglican Church (corner of Peter St. and Coldwater Rd.) on Saturday September 7, 2019 at 2 o’clock with visitation prior starting at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or to St. James Anglican Church and would be appreciated by the family.
