Hodges, Joan (nee McGlade)
Passed away peacefully at the Kemptville District Hospital with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 69. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Gordon C. Hodges. Loving and devoted mother of Nicole Hodges, Scott Hodges (Carol Ann McLeod) and Charles Hodges (Kathy Illingworth). Cherished grandmother of Brody, Rebecca and Bethany Hodges, Matt, Eric, Alyson and Ian Stewart. Joan will be sadly missed by her siblings Teresa (Carl) Shannon and Stephen (Cathy) McGlade. She will also be fondly remembered by her nephew Clifford (Kim) Proud, whom she considered a brother and her best friend Betty Clements. Joan is also predeceased by her parents Clifford and Alice McGlade, along with her sisters Helen O’Neil (late Graham), Irene Proud, Ann McMunn (late Blair), Nancy Kearney and Judy Kelford. She is survived by her brother-in-law Bob Kearney as well as Gord’s brother Grant (Kay Hodges) and brother-in-law Dave (late Brenda) Wallace. Joan had many extended family and friends. Friends are welcome to gather at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service to celebrate her life in chapel at 12 noon. Following the gathering and service, interment will take place at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Beth Donovan Hospice, in Kemptville.
