Obituary of Jim McFarlane
MCFARLANE, James Hamilton- It is with heavy hearts that Jim’s family announces his passing on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at the Haldimand Memorial Hospital at the age of 79. Beloved best friend and spouse of Ginette Pelchat. Cherished father of Michael (Levi) McFarlane and Nancy (Gord) McFarlane, Stephan Beaulieu and Josee (Yves) Beaulieu. Jim was much loved by his grandchildren Sarah, Todd, Joshua, Jesse, Vincent, Phanie, Carol-Anne and many great grandchildren. A special thank you to the St Elizabeth’s Personal Support Workers and Haldimand Memorial Hospital Staff for the loving care and support you have given Jim in his time of need.
“Leave me no grave to weep over. The thought of that dark imprisonment of earth, brings sorrow to my heart and chill to my soul. Let me blow free in ashes, unfettered by the bonds of earth. Warmed in the sun, soothed by the gentle rain. Let me wander thru the fields and open waters again. Let me be free. If you can remember me only with tears, then don’t remember me at all. Remember me not with tears, or a sadness or regret, but with life, laughter”
Arrangement intrusted to Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, On. In keeping with Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In memory of Jim, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Haldimand Norfolk or Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ballardminorfh.ca.
