Jean Paul Richard
1946-2019
ST-IGNACE, NB – Jean Paul Richard 72, of St-Ignace
passed away at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste-Anne-de-Kent on
Thursday, August 15, 2019. Born in St-Ignace, he was the son
of the late Alban Richard and late Delphine (Comeau)
Richard. Before retiring, Jean Paul was employed as a minor
for 10 years, a woodsman and also worked at many fish
plants. He was an avid cribbage player, and in his younger
days he enjoyed hunting, bowling, playing softball and horse
shoes.
Jean Paul will be sadly missed by his loving girlfriend of 19
years, Marielle Johnson of St-Ignace; one daughter, Chantal Richard
(Gabriel) of Richibouctou-Village; one son, Stéphane
Richard of Dartmouth, NS; one step-daughter, Carla Armstrong (David)
of Moncton; one grandson, Mathieu; one great granddaughter; Myriam;
three step-grandchildren, Ryan, Randy and Katherine and the mother of
his children, Yolande Poirier.
He is also survived by eight sisters, Eleonore Gravelle
(Pierre) of Ottawa, Bernice Vautour (late Hubert) of St. Louis,
Laurie-Anne Richard (Francis) of Leominster, MASS, Marie-Anne Gallant
(Edmond) of St-Ignace, Noëlla Nowlan (Fernand) of St. Anne,
Géraldine McCaie (late Normand) of Rogersville, Lucienne
Maillet (Maurice) of St. Louis, Hélène LeBlanc
(Florent) of Rogersville; three brothers, Delphin Richard (late Erna)
of Gardiner, MASS, Livain Richard (late Diane) of St. Louis, Daniel
Richard (Marcella) of St-Ignace and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister,
Julianna and one niece, Norma.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Tuesday at
9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will
be celebrated on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:00 am, St. Ignace de
Loyola Roman Catholic Church, St-Ignace. Donations in Jean
Paul’s memory may be made to the charity of the
donor’s choice. Arrangements are in care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto
(523-4252).
