On August 29, 2019 our beloved friend, brother, and son Jarrod Sokul passed away at the age of 18 years old.
He will be remembered by his mother, Debbie; father, Dennis; sister, Corrine; grandmother, Joyanne Pettigrew; grandfather, David Pettigrew alongside many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Josephine Pettigrew; grandmother, Vicky Sokul and grandfather Carl Sokul.
He was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on October 6, 2000.
Living there he attended Father Gorman Elementary School, and Holy Rosary High School. He moved to St. Albert and attended St. Albert Catholic High School. Jarrod participated in hockey, curling, theater and he grew his knowledge, experience and passion for politics, graduating in 2018. He went on to attend the University of Ottawa to study political science and work in the House of Commons. He was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2019 and passed among family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, AB on September 2, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Jarrod’s name to the Matt Cook Foundation at c/o Miller Boileau Family Law Group, 10981-127 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5M 0T1.
