It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our much loved, Edward Arnold Forrest,78, on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by love from his wife and family.
Born in Sydney Mines on December 17,1940, he was the son of the late Peter and Agnes Forrest. Skinny, as everyone knew him, started his career at the Princess Colliery Mine and continued working on the railway with Devco for 35 years. He will forever be known for his hard work, his willingness to always help out with anything, and his sense of humour.
He will forever be missed by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years Catherine (Mills) Forrest, his children Wendy, Cindy (Fraser), Kim, Blair (Nona), Barry (Michelle), Robert (Roxanne), Sydney Mines, Heather (Peter), Brenda (Stacey), Florence ,Keith ((Gloria) Alberta, his brothers Charles, Dave , his sister Linda, Sydney Mines and his 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, whom loved him very much.
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Kenneth, his brothers Alexander, Peter, Willis and George, and sisters Della, Edith, Elizabeth, Agnes, and Mary, his father and mother-in-law John and Maydell Mills, and sister-in-law Loretta (Mills) Ryan.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines on Thursday August 29, 2019, at 10 am with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
