Obituary for David George Alderton Sr.
After a lengthy battle with illness, David George Alderton Sr. passed away peacefully at Watford Quality Care on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the age of 71. Loving father to Laura Alderton-Scott (Norm Scott), Margie Greaves (Dennis Elliott), Lisa Kernohan (Jason McCutcheon), Dave Alderton Jr. (Dawn), Michael Durston (Sara). Loving Papa to the late Joshua (2013), Samantha (Matthew), Kevin (Angélique), Devin (Kaylynn), Savanna, Morgan, Madison, Victoria, Cora, Liam, Jorj, Hayden, McKenna, Michael Jr and Mariah. Great Papa to Jacob, Aubrey, Matthew Jr and Dominic. He will be lovingly remembered by Norma Durston and his extended family. Predeceased by his parents, the late George and Laura (nee Colvin) Alderton. Dave was a farmer who loved to read. He spent countless hours at the library when he wasn’t spending time with his other love; his family. Visitors will be received by the family on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery.
