Obituary of Catherine “Kay” Burns
BURNS, Catherine “Kay”, Port Hawkesbury/Louisdale
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Catherine “Kay” Burns, 87 who resided at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home in Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Louisdale that occurred at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on August 21, 2019. Born August 27, 1931, she was the daughter of Clifton and Josephine (Landry) Richards of French Cove. Mom will be missed beyond measure by all who knew her and will be remembered for her kindness and profound love for her family. She loved deeply and was deeply loved. She is survived by sons, Lloyd (Sharon), Carl (Theresa), Terry (Krystal)); daughters Margaret (Bernie), Barbara (David), Patricia (Keith); 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother Lloyd Richards. I She was predeceased by her husband Willie Burns; brother Lavin Richards and grand daughter Aimee Lee Burns. The family would like to extend special thanks to her Angels at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to their mom over the past two years. She loved you all so much. Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson Room in Louisale on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday morning August 26, 2019 at St. Louis Church in Louisdale at 11 A.M. with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac presiding. Burial to take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery, Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made in Mom’s memory to the Aimee Burns Memorial Trust Fund, Parkinson’s Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation (NS) or the Srait Richmond Hospital Foundation.
