October 12, 1925 – August 18, 2019
Went peacefully to be with the Lord on August 18, 2019, formerly of Exeter, Grand Rapids, Michigan and most recently Townsend at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Fetje Sigtema (1982) and Roelfiena Jansingh (nee Bos) (2013). Loving father of Helen and Brian McIlhargey, George and Catherine Bakker, Sid Bakker, Dick and Theresa Bakker, and step-son Harry Jansingh. He is survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Evert and Trudy, and Peter and Evelyn. Predeceased by his son Boyd Selwyn Bakker (1986), step-daughter Yvonne McIntyre (2012), and 8 of his siblings.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Thursday from 6 – 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 330 Huron Street West, Exeter on Friday, August 23rd at 11 AM, Pastor Willem de Vries of Jarvis Ebenezer CRC officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
