Obituary of Arthur Owen Goodman
Arthur Owen Goodman, 82 of Centreville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in the South Shore Regional Hospital. Born in Christ Church, Barbados; he was the son of the late Richard O. and Emerald L. (Kelly) Goodman of Ontario.
Arthur was a very quiet and private man, old school in his ways. But underneath it all, he was a kind, compassionate and soft soul, who would do anything for family and those he was close with. Anyone who had the opportunity to see that side of him would realize there was more to him than what he portrayed on the outside. His greatest joy in life was spending time with family and spoiling his three grandchildren.
He will always be remembered by his contagious smile and his sense of humour that would never fail to brighten up those who were around to share the laughter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Vera E. (Myatt) Goodman, Centreville; daughter Deborah E. Goodman, Centreville; son Wade A. (Susan) Goodman, Billtown; grandchildren Joshua O. Carther, Kingston; Anthony G. Carther, Gagetown, NB; Michaella L. Goodman, Billtown; siblings Violet (Ross) Beech; Annette Spahn; Clifton Goodman; Winston (Linda) Goodman; Judy (Louis) Corbin; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by sister Marjorie Butler and brothers-in-law Victor Butler and Richard Spahn.
Arthur’s family wish to give a special thank you to the VON, Mahone Bay Nursing Home and the South Shore Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:30 am in the Wolfville Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the I.W.K. Children’s Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Wolfville Funeral Chapel, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E5 (902-542-4656).
