William E. Gregan
1928 – 2019
William Everett Gregan, husband of Nina (Preston) Gregan of Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on June 19, 2019 at the age of 91.
Born in Chatham, on May 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Wright and Irene (Savoie) Gregan. William ran his own business William Gregan Ltd. for many years. He was a part of The Fourth Degree – Knights of Columbus, St. Michael’s Parish Council and Cemetery Committee. He represented St. Michael’s on the Rink Committee of the L.B.A and was a member of the Duck’s Unlimited.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years this year, Nina (Preston) Gregan; daughter, Carla Gregan Burns (Gordie) of Miramichi; son, Olin Gregan of Miramichi; six grandchildren: Joey, Tim, Christopher, Catherine, Spencer and Tessa; five great grandchildren: Carly, Sammi, Audrey, Bridget and Addyson; two brothers: Lorne Gregan of Sydney, NS and Bobby Gregan of Toms River, NJ. Also would like to mention Debbie, Wendy and Patsy, William’s caregivers who have provided such beautiful care for him at home. He was predeceased by his parents, son, Laurie, brothers: Olin and Blaine.
Visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Michael’s Basilica on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 11 am with Father Paul Doucet and Father Leon Creamer as Celebrants. Music for the service was provided by Mr. David Bunnell and St. Michael’s Choir and the hymns were “We Shall Go Out”, “Into Your Hands”, “Taste and See”, “Be Not Afraid” and the recessional song was “Lord of the Dance”. The scripture readings were read by Olin Gregan and Jane O’Neill. The Prayers of the Faithful was by Olin Gregan a tribute to Bill was presented by Carla Gregan-Burns and Tessa Burns.
Pallbearers were Joey Gregan, Tim Gregan, Christopher Gregan, Spencer Burns, Brian Gregan, Craig Somers, Chris Corcoran and Paul Connell. Interment was held in the parish cemetery.
