Obituary of John Charles Stojan
April 19, 1949 – July 20, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we mournfully announce the sudden passing of John Stojan.
John was born in smith, Alberta on April 19, 1949 where he spent his younger years before moving to Grande Prairie, Alberta. John was very athletic and played on several sports teams as a youth. He especially enjoyed football and played for the Edmonton Huskies until the time came to start a family. He started at Procter and Gamble in July 1973 in the bush, from there he moved to the planer mill where he met Suzanne, then Kiln co-ordinator before starting a career as a machinist in the pulp mill. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2016.
He is survived by Suzanne, his loving wife and best friend of 34 years; children Jay (Terri), Tyler (Kathie), Jennifer, Mark (Chrisandra), Reanne (Matheu); grandchildren, Connor, Cruz, Weston and Grayson; brothers Bob, Jim (Nancy), Karl (Shelley), honorary family members, Debbie and Dennis Tissington.
John was predeceased by his father, Charles; mother, Loraine Wright; grandparents, Louie and Bessie Stojan; son Trevor as well as, David Stojan and Dr. Frank Stojan.
Donations in memory of John may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation 110-1525 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON K1Z 8R9.
A Celebration of Life for John will be held on Monday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Bear Creek Funeral Home/Richmond Reception Center 11802 99 Avenue, Grande Prairie.
