On May 31, 2019, at Hotel Dieu Grace Health Care Palliative Care Unit, in his 89th year, Lyle got his angel wings. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Samson)(nee Malenfant). Loving father of Jon and his wife Debbie. Cherished grandpa of Bradley Huckle and wife Sara and Samantha Huckle. Dearest step-father of Darlene Clark and the late Norm, Doreen and Wayne Oldreive (St. Catherines), Denise Drouillard and Ray Drouillard, Edward and Lili Samson (Australia) and step-grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Hazel ton and Doris Holden. Predeceased by his 4 brothers. Lyle retired from Overland Express TNT. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Lyle was a member of the Windsor Umpires Association for many years. Lyle coached Little League for Windsor West, and was a manager of Windsor Minor Hockey. Lyle was a member of RCL Br # 143 and a lifetime member of the Windsor Sportsmen Club. Special thanks to all the PSW’s, all the nurses who home visited and at Palliative Care, Dr. Burgess and Paris, Dr. Aoun and Tracey.
If you so desire, donations to Hospice of Windsor or Transition to Betterness would be appreciated by the family. Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements entrusted to Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Lyle’s life on Friday June 7, 2019 at RCL Branch # 143, 1570 Marentette Ave. from 12:00-3:00 p.m.
