Sherk, Kathryn Elaine (1940-2019)
Kathryn E. Sherk’s earthly journey ended on Wednesday evening, June 26, 2019 when God took her home to heaven, aged 79 years. Kathryn was born on May 1, 1940 at New Dundee, the 3rd child of Floyd & Marjorie (Bock) Sherk. She is survived by her siblings – Marian (Fred) Witmer, Vernon (Leone) Sherk, Allan (Carolyn) Sherk, Alice (Pete) Gill, and several nieces & nephews and their families. She is predeceased by her parents and brother-in-law Pete Gill.
Kathryn worked for 40 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). She loved to travel in Ontario & Canada & the US and took several trips to Israel, Greece and England. Kathryn also loved to take pictures of most everything. She had a very positive & joyful outlook on life. She was a member of the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church at New Dundee. Kathryn will be dearly missed by her many relatives and friends.
A private family burial is to be held at the New Dundee Cemetery. A Memorial Service for Kathryn will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the Bethel EM Church, New Dundee. A reception will follow the service. All are invited to attend. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to the Henry Walser Funeral Home (519) 749-8467. Donations in memory of Kathryn to the Grand River Hospital Foundation – Cancer Centre (www.grhf.org/ways-to-give/) will be much appreciated.
