John “Johnny” Paul Mayo
July 05, 1960 – June 24, 2019

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 24, 2019 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, age 58 years. Predeceased by his father William Mayo (1989); infant brother William Patrick Mayo (1958); grandparents Olive and John Mayo, Margaret and Patrick Denine; many close aunts and uncles. Leaving to mourn his loving mother Alice Mayo who will miss him greatly; son Johnathan Mayo; daughter Janelle Mayo; sisters: Virginia (Bud) Boland and Darlene (Shane) Hiscock; special sister Cheryl-Lee (Dale) Gardiner; nieces and nephews: Garry (Dori) Boland, Ginny (Craig) Gullage, Krystal (Tim) Gardiner, Billy Gardiner and Bradly Gardiner; great-nieces: Carly Gullage, Kassandra Boland, Ashlyn Boland and Maggie Boland; great-great-niece Addison Gullage; aunts: Catherine (Kev, deceased) Mallard, Mary (Jack) Mercer, Ann (John) Quinlan and Stella (Hubert) Mercer; uncles: Joe (Cretia) Denine and Chess (Daisy) Mayo; a large circle of cousins and friends in Quidi Vidi Village; special friends: Wilmore Soper, Mary and Claude Ring, Olive and Eric Snelgrove, Brian Young, Jason Sellars and nephew in-law and very close friend Tim Drodge. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Clare’s 7 West who went above and beyond. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, with visitation on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from The Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
