Helen Lena Sinclair Skakum Wednesday February 6th 2019

Passed away peacefully surround by her family at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, just shy of her 102nd birthday. Beloved wife of the late George Sinclair. Loving mother of Joan (Allan Rourke), mother-in-law of Bill Thompson, predeceased by her daughter Jean and her twins Alexander George and Alexis Elana. Cherished grandmother of Cindy (Jim), Peter (Isabelle), Ross (Diane), Elana, Chris (Kim) and Gary. Great-grandmother of Justin, Kyra, Miriam, Rylan and Naomi. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Evelyn Skakum, and by her 8 siblings. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff of Rosedale Retirement Residence, and the Brockville General Hospital, and Palliative Care Centre for their many years of compassion and care. A special thank you to Kathy Watiuk for her companionship, support and care over the last decade.
Family and friends will gather to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Saturday June 15, 2019 from 12:30 – 2 pm with a ceremony celebrating Helen’s life commencing at 2 pm in the chapel. Interment and reception to follow.
