Obituary of Frank Allan Thornton
It is with broken hearts that we say goodbye to our husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend Frank Thornton “Franko”. Frank passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a son of the late Francis and Verna Thornton.
Frank was the Owner and President of Advanced Laboratories, a chemical manufacturing company. He had a love of music and played saxophone professionally in his younger years. Frank was a long-time member of Brightwood Golf Club, the Dartmouth Curling Club, and Dartmouth Players.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy; daughters, Krista Thornton (Brent) and Kimberley Thornton; stepson, Brad Hoyt (Leah); sister, Joanne Smith; grandchildren, Cody, Coralie, Ella, Clara, Evie; son-in-law, Jean Robert (Lori); many nieces and nephews, and special family friends, the Machado family, Ricardo, Marlenys, Mileny, and Melissa.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Diana Thornton; brother, Bill, and brother, Ed (Norma).
Visitation to take place in Woodlawn United Church on Thursday, June 27th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, June 28th at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn United Church. Reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or Kiwanis Breakfast Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4P 1B9 (902-679-2822).
