Obituary of Edmond Joseph Gerard Guimond
GUIMOND, Edmond Joseph Gerard – age 89, of Stewiacke, formerly of Lantz, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on June 29, 2019. Born in Edmunston, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Albert and Alice (Dugas) Guimond.
Edmond was employed as a meteorologist with Environment Canada for more than 35 years. He was a very proud and doting father. Edmond was a kind and giving man who always put the needs of others before his own. He was community minded and volunteered with many organizations. Edmond enjoyed music very much and was happiest when surrounded by singing and music making.
Edmond is survived by his children, Marcel (Christina), Robert “Bibo”, Michele Pepper (Brian Richards), Andree (Warren) Preston, Maurice (Iola Pishuktie), Brigitte Richer (Mike Cote); several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Noella Berthelot; many nieces and nephews.
Edmond was predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce; son, Eric; grandson, Jeremy; sisters, Esther, Alma, Germaine, Hermance, Hilda, Lydia; brother, Wilfred.
Visitation will take place 6-8pm, Thursday, July 4 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Funeral Service will be held 2pm Saturday, July 6 in Christ Anglican Church, Lantz, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Anglican Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the VON Homecare workers for their exemplary care of Dad. Donations in Edmond’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
