Peacefully at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre, Ottawa, on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the age of 96. Dearly beloved husband of the late Bernice Swant (nee Budd). Loving father of Stuart (Yvonne), Barclay “Ron” (Sharon) and Angelea van Veen (Pieter). Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Joe Swant, Nickolaas van Veen and Sheena van Veen. Friends are invited to visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road (at Aviation Parkway), Ottawa, on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and at Zohr Family Funeral Home, 194 Jane Street, Eganville, on Saturday June 22, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Eganville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion, 57 Pontiac Street, Eganville, Ontario K0J 1T0, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
