Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Prince County
Hospital, Summerside on Monday May 20, 2019 of Wallace R. Simmons of
Summerside aged 93 years. Veteran of the Second World War.
Born in Belmont Lot 16 on January 8, 1926, son of the late Arthur and
Gertrude (Breen) Simmons. Husband of the late Jean
E. Simmons (deceased Nov 2, 2018) for 67 years. Father of
Brenda (Jim) Burrell, Gary (Liz) Simmons, Greg (Sheryl) Simmons and
Kathy (Pat) Gallant. Grandfather of Vanessa Simmons (Luc),
Tiffany (Mike) Haynes, Arika (Tim) Greencorn, Amanda (Stephen) Ashley,
Mikayla (Ryan) Paynter, Debra Dawn (Rob) Doucette, Ryan (Denise)
Gallant and Corey (Elena) Green. Great-grandfather of Max,
Sawyer, Jack, Emmy, Maren, Carson, Liam, Ava, Jase and
Lilly. Survived by his sister Betty (late Paul) Muggah, and
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Clara (late John) Marett,
Elmer (Jenny) Simmons, and Robert (late Anna Rae) Simmons.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law Etta (John), Wanda (Larry), Dorothy (Roger) and
Virginia (Nelson).
Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation
on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Comrades of George R. Pearkes
V.C. Branch # 5 Royal Canadian Legion Summerside will hold a service
of remembrance at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Thursday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
If so desired contributions may be made to the Prince County Chapter
of Ducks Unlimited or the Prince County Hospital
Foundation.
