Scott Andrew Collett
September 14, 1956 ~ May 15, 2019
It is with great sadness, and “a little shock”, that we announce the passing of Scott Andrew Collett, he lost his short, but strong fight against cancer on Tuesday May 15th, 2019 at the age of 62 years.
Scott was born in the Bassano Hospital on September 14, 1956, he lived his entire life in Hussar where he attended and graduated from the Hussar School. Scott worked hard and tried his hand at different jobs, A.G.T., Doug’s Earthmoving, trailer construction until he chose a career as a welder. He worked with his brothers Ralph and Donnie at Lafarge in Calgary.
Scott was very proud on his daughter, son-in-law and his granddaughters, family was everything for Scott, he respected his brothers, sister, his mom and dad, and when they lost their brother Ronnie, he was there for his family.
Scott was an animal lover, he had a black lab named Shadow as a kid, currently his cats; Nelson and Newman.
He enjoyed coming home on the weekends, touring the countryside with his friend Darren, teaching him proudly about the country. Scott was a practical joker and loved to tease his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed a little creative building at work and home. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and a lifetime of friends.
Scott was predeceased by his parents; mother Lila in 2000, father Leo in 1982 and his brother Ronnie in 1980.
Scott leaves to mourn his wife Donna, his daughter Shannon (Kyle) Gordon, two granddaughters Peyton and Taylor, two brothers; Ralph (Yvonne) Collett, Donnie (Vera) Collett, one sister Edna (Marty) Gordon numerous nieces, nephews, Donna’s family, mother-in-law Verna Heryford and many extended family members.
A Memorial service for Scott will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lutheran Church Our Saviours in Hussar, Alberta, interment to follow in the Hussar Cemetery, there will be a time of fellowship, light refreshment, and a slideshow prepared by Shelly Heryford after the service at the Hussar Community Hall.
Memorial donations may be made to the Hussar Cemetery Foundation. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Homes are in care of the arrangements.
