Obituary of Rosina Sceppacerqua
SCEPPACERQUA- Rosina (née Sassano) of Port Colborne passed away at Northland Pointe, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Antonio (2009), loving mother of Albert (Angie), Rosemary and Diane (Pete), dear grandmother of Derek (Lindsay), Steven, Drew, Jessica (Ryan), Dillon (Brandi), A.J (Amanda). Loving great grandmother of Charlotte, sister of Nunzio Sassano, Suore Angela Sassano, Francescina Sassano of Argentina, sister-in-law of Annito (Jeanette) Sceppacerqua, Gilda (the late Pasquale) Sceppacerqua and Ida (the late Angelo) Sceppacerqua. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Pasquale (the late Antoinette) Sassano. Rosina was a member of Club Castropignano, a member of St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, the Port Colborne Bocce Club where she was an active member since 1989 and a member of Friends Over 55. She and her husband were Italian radio broadcasters at CHOW Radio for over 10 years. Mom was a kind and caring person and always welcomed her friends to her home. Special thanks to Dr. G. Rungi, Dr. A. Daniel and the caring staff at Northland Pointe. The Sceppacerqua family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2019 at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church, 375 Main Street, West, Port Colborne at 1:00 p.m. with Father Peter Walton Officiant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to St. John Bosco Church Roof Fund.
