Obituary of Odiel H. Ameel
Ameel: Odiel H. –
A resident of Ridgetown, Odiel Ameel passed away at Four Counties Health Services, Newbury with family at his side on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the age of 91.
Born in Howard Township, Odiel was the son of the late Jules and Zoe (VanWynsberghe) Ameel.
Loving husband to Audrey (nee Trenter).
Greatest Dad to Judy and Ronald Osborne, Danny and Darlene Ameel and Marie and Michael Foulon.
Best Papa to Regina, Karen, the late Joseph Timothy (1981), Timmy, Sheila, Emily, Megan and step-granddaughter Caitlin.
Great Grandpa to Hannah, Charleigh, Hudson, Eva and step-great-granddaughter Kaylee.
Predeceased by his brother Marcel Ameel and sister-in-law Simone Ameel.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, extended family as well as many friends.
Odiel started his career delivering for Canada Bread, before purchasing the family farm. He went on to farm in Howard Township and truck farm produce to Canadian Canners for over 40 years. He was a proud 25 year member of the Kent Historic Auto Club and the treasurer and announcer of the former Saddlelite Saddle Club.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 2:00 pm until the Funeral Service at 3:00 pm. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
Special thanks to the staff at Four Counties for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Odiel to the Four Counties Health Services Foundation – Palliative Care would be appreciated.
