Martien’s Obituary
Martinus Bontrup, former resident of Worsley (AB), long time resident of Fairview (AB), passed away on May 7, 2019, in Fairview at the age of 79 years.
Martien Bontrup was born September 2, 1939 in Wanroij, Holland, the oldest of 14 children. From an early age, farming was Martien’s plan. He loved being out in nature, fishing, hunting or just going for a drive to look for moose.
Martien is pre-deceased by his parents, Wilhelm & Petronella, his brother Joe; sister, Hettie & grandson, Kelsey.
Martien leaves behind to mourn, his wife, Annie; sons, Wilbert (Monique), Rudy & his grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for the late Martien Bontrup will be held Monday, May 13 at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Fairview at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fairview & Area Palliative Care Society would be appreciated.
