Memorial Donation
It is with heavy hearts that after a lengthy illness we announce the sudden passing of Lorraine Wilkes, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on May 20, 2019 at the Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memory her husband George; children, Louise and Anita (Don); grandchildren, Sean (Amara), Trevor, Christie (Brent), Mandy (Jordan), and Chantal (Rob); great-grandchildren, Zachary, Katelyn, Kiarra, Sophia, Ryker, and Kane; step-children, Derrick (Shannon), Darcy (Wayne), Darlene (Mark) and their families; her sister Marlene, brother Murray (Dale), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Pearl Marchenski and her brother-in-law Emil.
Lorraine was born on May 31, 1937 in Winnipegosis, MB. After graduating high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Yorkton SK, she attended Success Business College in Winnipeg where she later taught. Her warm, outgoing and loving nature brought her close to many hearts. She had a strong faith and lived to help others.
A special thanks to Dr. Rimmer and Nurse Alexis at CancerCare Manitoba and all her health care providers over the past few years.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 Winakwa Rd., Winnipeg, MB.
