Allan Leslie Kavanagh, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on May 28th.
Allan was born on July 15th 1935. He was the oldest of 9 children. He married Mercedes Sylvain on June 1st, 1957. Always a proud man, he was a member of the Canadian Airborne Forces Association and a past president of the Lions Club. For the past several years he could be found touring elementary schools in Chateauguay to participate in Remembrance Day ceremonies.
Allan is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mercedes, and their children Daniel (Susan), Robert (Debra) and Joanne (Jeffrey). He will be forever loved by his grandchildren Wayne (Alexandra), Shanna (Craig), Paula (Jesse), Ryan (Jessica), Dianna (Gregory), Alexis and Trevor. His legacy will continue in his 9 great-grandchildren Addison, Jacob, Tucker, Victoria, Evelyn, Emily, Ronan, Caeleigh and Brinley. He will be missed by his siblings Leo, Elaine, Patricia and Carol and all others who loved him.
Along with his parents, Emmett Kavanagh and Helene Lafortune, he is predeceased by his siblings Paul, Kathy, Lorraine and Arthur.

on Saturday June 8th, 2019 beginning at 9:00 am followed by a service at 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held at the Canadian Legion in Chateauguay at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
