COLE, Thomas James “Jim” (Veteran WWII – Royal Canadian Navy – Chief Petty Officer) – Of Belleville, passed away peacefully, with family by his side at the Belmont Long Term Care Facility on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019. Jim Cole born in Deseronto was in his 101st year. Son of the late Harry and Rose Cole (nee Gartland). Beloved husband of the late Anne Cole (nee Davidson). Loving father to Timothy Cole (Shari) of Point Anne, James Cole (Janet) of Belleville, Georgina Lewis (Paul) of Deseronto, Michael Cole (Gail) of Albany, N.Y., and Cynthia Coates (Peter) of Newmarket. Survived by his brother Jack Cole (Joan) and sisters Barbara McCurdy (late Mac) and Carmel LaRoche (late Reg). Pre-deceased by brothers Edward and Harry Cole and sisters Phyllis Stapley and Roseline McTaggart. Jim will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Monday, May 27th from 10:00a.m. – 12noon. Liturgy of the Word will be held immediately following at 12:00 noon. Fr. Charles McDermott officiating. Interment at St. James Cemetery to follow. If desired, donations to VETS Canada (Veterans Emergency Transition Services) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
