Bertrand – À l’Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jesus de Caraquet, le 6 mai 2019, est décédée à l’age de 79 ans Janine Paulette Landry, épouse bien-aimée de Jean-Paul Landry de Bertrand. Née à Orange (France) elle était la fille de feu Paul et Jeanne (nee Matejicek) Deflandre.
Outre son époux elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Alain (Mireille Arseneau) de Bertrand, Claude (Claudette Maillet) de Moncton, Diane Landry (Robert Rankel) de Summerside I-PE, Caroline Landry (Maurice Gaudet) de Ottawa, Nathalie de Charlottetown I-PE ainsi qu’un gendre Michael Gallant de Summerside, I-PE. Quatre petits-enfants Krista Lee Landry (Ryan Donnelly) de Irishtown, Daniel Landry de Bertrand, Vanessa Gallant de Summerside, I-PE et J.P. Jack Gaudet de Ottawa. Trois arrières petits enfants Ava, Emily et Daniel Donnelly. Un frère René Deflandre (Denise) de France. Deux beau frères Louis Sutter de France et Gérard Landry de Bertrand. Une belle sœur Jacqueline Chamberlain de Bertrand ainsi que plusieurs neveax et nièces.
Elle fut précédé dans la tombe par un petit-fils Denis Landry, ses sœurs Paulette Gapik et Gisèle Sutter, ses beaux frères et belles sœurs Casi Gapik, Théophile Chamberlain, Edith Landry, Albanie et Anita Landry, Gilles et Lucienne Landry ainsi que ses neveax Michel Landry et Daniel Gapik.
La dépouille mortelle sera exposée à compter de 19h le jeudi 9 mai 2019, au Salon de Bertrand (650 Boulevard des Acadiens, Bertrand). Les funérailles seront célébrées en l’église St-Joachim de Bertrand, le vendredi 10 mai, à 11h15. Il n’y aura pas de visites le jour des funérailles.
Heures de visite : jeudi 9 mai, de 19h à 21h.
En mémoire de Mme Landry, un don au fonds d’équipement du Somerset Manor de Summerside (www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/summerset-manor-memorial-equipment-fund/) ou à la SPCA Péninsule Acadienne (www.spca-pa.ca) serait apprécié.

At the end of a long, well lived life, the death occurred peacefully with her family by her side at l’Enfant-Jésus Hospital, Caraquet, NB on Monday, May 6, 2019 of Janine Paulette Landry (nee Deflandre), aged 79, best friend and cherished wife of 62 years to Jean Paul “Joe” Landry of Bertrand N.B, formerly of Miscouche, PEI. Born on November 24th, 1939, in Orange, France, she was the youngest and much loved daughter of late Paul and Jeanne (nee Matejicek) Deflandre.
Devoted mother of Alain Landry (Mireille Arseneau), Bertrand N.B; Claude Landry (Claudette Maillet), Moncton, N.B; Diane Landry (Robert Rankel), Summerside, PE; Caroline Landry (Maurice Gaudet), Ottawa, ON; Nathalie Landry, Charlottetown, PE and son-in law Micheal Gallant, Summerside. Doting “Mémé” of Krista Lee Landry (Ryan Donnelly), Irishtown, NB; Daniel Landry, Bertrand, NB; Vanessa Gallant, Summerside, PE and J.P. “Jack” Gaudet, Ottawa, ON. Proud great-grandmother of Ava, Emily and Daniel Donnelly, Irishtown, NB.
Janine is survived by brother Rene Deflandre (Denise), France, brother-in-law Louis Sutter, France, sister-in-law Jacqueline Chamberlain, Bertrand, NB and brother-in-law Gerard Landry, Bertrand, NB. Predeceased by her precious grandson, Denis Landry, sisters Paulette Gapik and Gisele Sutter and by brothers and sisters-in law Casi Gapik, Theophile Chamberlain, Edith Landry, Albanie and Anita Landry; Gilles and Lucienne Landry and by nephews Michel Landry and Daniel Gapik.
Resting at the Racicot Funeral Home – Salon de Bertrand (650 Boulevard des Acadiens, Bertrand, NB) then to the Saint-Joachim Church, Bertrand, NB for funeral service at 11:15am on Friday, May 10th. Interment to follow at the Saint-Joachim Church Cemetery, Bertrand.
Visiting hours Thursday, May 9th 7pm to 9pm. There will be no visiting period on the day of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Somerset Manor Equipment Fund (www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/summerset-manor-memorial-equipm…) or the SPCA Péninsule acadienne (www.spca-pa.ca) would be appreciated.

Caroline and family I am so sorry for your loss. I know your mother was a big part of your life and she will be missed dearly. There is peace in knowing you were by her side and she was loved. My condolences to you and your family.
