Obituary of Ivan Grant Shipley
SHIPLEY, Mr. Ivan Grant
Passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Strathroy Middle General Hospital, at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Geraldine “Gerry” Edith Shipley (nee Smith). Loving father of Karen Kingdon (Doug), Kevin Shipley (Wanda), Ron Shipley (Sharon), and Ian Shipley (Barb). Cherished Poppi to 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd Stanley Shipley and Mabel Anne Shipley (nee Kelly), and his brother Bruce Lloyd Shipley, and his twin sister Mabel Irene Henry. Along with his brother Bruce, Ivan operated Shipley’s Forest Ltd and later, Lakeside Grain & Feed, providing services to the farming community of Lambton County. In his retirement years, Ivan and his wife Gerry enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also like to spend time fishing with friends, as well as woodworking in his shop sharing his many creations with his family. Private Funeral Service. For those who wish, in memoriam donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Strathroy Middle Health Alliance would be appreciated by the family.
