George Percy Nickerson Monday May 20th 2019

Nickerson, George Percy- 93, Yarmouth, passed away on May 20,2019 in Veterans Place, Yarmouth. George proudly served his country during WW2 as a member of the Merchant Navy. After he returned home George would enjoy many years working on the ocean as a hard-working fisherman. Saltwater was in his veins. George is survived by his children Collie (Eleanor) Nickerson; Sharon (Mike) Murphy; Phillip (Geraldine) Nickerson; Marsha (Gerald) Richard; Andrea (Leroy) Rodgerson; Chris (Deanna) Nickerson; like a son Jason Phillips; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by both his parents; wife Edith (Atwood); grand daughter Connie Murphy; great grandson Sandy Murphy. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2:00pm. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. A.D Bill Newell officiating. Interment to follow the Memorial Service in the Arcadia Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Veteran’s Place, Yarmouth, Tri County VON or Charity of Choice. We the family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the staff, servers and volunteers, especially Mel, Jean Marie and Cindy at Veteran’s Place. Your kindness was very much appreciated.
