Obituary of Evelyn Harden
HARDEN: Evelyn Jean (nee Balmer) –
A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Peterborough, Evelyn Harden passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at her side on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the age of 92.
Born in Whitby, Evelyn was the daughter of the late George and Ann (Anderson) Balmer.
Beloved wife of 72 years to Frederick Harden.
Loving mother to Randy Harden (Leslie) of London, Blair Harden (Donna Matheson) of London, John Harden (Susan) of Chatham and Carol Kleinstuber (Kevin) of Cambridge.
Proud grandmother to Graham Harden, Drew Harden (Heather), Paige Harden, Brett Harden, Nicole Harden, Josh Curran, Bradley Kleinstuber and Bryan Kleinstuber.
Dear sister Dorothy Lander (late Donald) of Orillia and Karen Luke (Gordon) of Whitby.
Sister-in-law to the late Bill and Julie Harden.
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Evelyn had dedicated her life to her family and was a very talented knitter, sewer and baker. She enjoyed bowling in various leagues in Peterborough and Chatham. Evelyn has been an active member of the Church of the Advent for 57 years. She also enjoyed her time with the ACW, the IODE, her square dancing club and her bridge club.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 12pm until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Justin Comber officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Evelyn to the Church of the Advent would be appreciated.
