At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, May 11, 2019 of Dorothy
Belle Bears (Drake) of Charlottetown age 94 years. Beloved wife of the
late Gordon Bears and dear mother of Michael (Pat), Patsy Lane (Lyle)
and Barbara Carter (Wayne). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren
Robbie (Jacqui), Carolyn (Tyler), Shauna, Heather, Aaron (Tina), Sarah
(Dan), Ashley (Jeremy), Alyson (David) and by her 9
great-grandchildren. Sister of Wendell Drake (Marilyn). Predeceased by
her parents Wilfred and Ora (MacLeod) Drake, by her brother Wilfred
and by her sister Eleanor Key (George). Dorothy graduated from the
Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and was a
dedicated nurse for 46 years. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from
where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on
Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Sherwood Cemetery. Memorial
donations may be made to the Scleroderma Society of Nova Scotia.
Family flowers only. The family would like to extend their thanks to
the wonderful staff at Andrews of Stratford for their excellent care
for almost 9 year as well as to the staff on Unit 2 of the Queen
Elizabeth Hospital.
