McGUIRE, Donald John
At home in Kanata Lakes on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the age of 83. Born in Ottawa on February 10, 1936, he was the son of the late J. Rowland and Ivy (nee Fleming) McGuire. Don, a retired machinist (Canadian Bank Note), was a long-time resident of Bells Corners before moving to Kanata. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Elizabeth (nee Patterson); his daughters Barbara (Darrin Clarke) and Julie (Bart Kelly), and his grandchildren David and Sarah Clarke and Aidan and Grace Kelly. Predeceased by his brother-in-law, Bill Patterson. The family wishes to thank Dr. R. Hijazi, Dr. R Breau (General Campus), and the QCH for their care and compassion. Thank you to the PSWs who brought a smile to Don’s face. A very heartfelt thank-you to Barbara Davis (RPN Retire at Home) for her constant attention, love, and support. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre – 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, on Friday, June 7 after 11 a.m. Funeral Service to follow in the Chapel at 12:30 p.m. Reception to follow. Don will be laid to rest at Capital Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Don can be made to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation.
