Obituary of Arthur Aarssen
AARSSEN: ARTHUR JOSEPH “ART”
Arthur “Art” Joseph AARSSEN of Bayfield, and formerly of Wallaceburg on Sunday, May 12th at the age of 80. Survived by his wife of 35 years Rose (DeKort), son Ric and Shelley, stepdaughter Sheri Blake and Murt, stepson David Brodeur, and his sister Sally Lucier and Gary. He was the proud grandpa of Joe and Cassandra, Kyle, Heather Thomson and Ian, Candice and Zachary Brodeur and great grandpa or Papa to Izzy, Abby and Milo Aarssen and Claire and Cameron Thomson. Art is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his parents Desere and Jeannie Aarssen, brothers Bill, Ray and Rob Aarssen and sister Johanna Dawdy, son Robbie and grandson Brandon Blake. Art enjoyed and was involved in many activities and clubs throughout his lifetime. He was a great conversationalist and could always be counted on for a lively discussion on the topics he was passionate about, including his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Art loved being a host to others and was a welcome presence in his community. His larger than life personality and contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Art’s life will be held on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 from 2 until 4 PM at Pinelake Campground Recreation Hall 77794 Orchard Line, Bayfield, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton Chapel.
