Obituary of SISTER RITA PETIT, MO
Samedi, le 13 avril 2019, S. Rita Petit fit son entrée à la maison du Père à l’âge de 93 ans. Elle était membre de la Congrégation des Missionnaires Oblates de Saint-Boniface depuis 72 ans.
Rita naquit à Ile-des-Chênes, MB, le 5 novembre 1925. Son père, Edmond Petit, était originaire de la Belgique, et sa mère, Lucie Dumaine, était originaire d’Ile des Chênes, Manitoba.
L’ont précédé dans la mort ses parents, ses soeurs, Marie-Ange, Thérèse, Agnès, Agnès (Petit) Haddock, et deux frères, Albert et René.
Outre les membres de sa communauté religieuse, elle laisse dans le deuil une soeur, Thérèse Chartrand (Alfred), un frère, Ernest (Rolande Johnson), deux belles-soeurs, Jeannette (Manaigre) Petit, Gauvin et Lucille (Chabot) Petit et un beau-frère, Edouard Haddock.
Les prières seront mardi, le 23 avril 2019 à 10 h à la chapelle de Villa Aulneau, 601 rue Aulneau, Winnipeg, MB. Les funérailles seront célébrées à 13 h 30 le même jour, au même endroit. L’Abbé Fernand Desjardins présidera la célébration.
L’inhumation des cendres aura lieu au Cimetière St-Boniface de la rue Archibald le même jour à 15 h 30, 2019. La direction des funérailles est confiée au salon Mortuaire Cropo.

Sister Rita Petit passed away at Villa Aulneau in St. Boniface on April 13, 2019, at the age of 93. She was a member of the religious Congregation of the Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface for 72 years.
Rita was born in Ile des Chenes, MB, on November 5, 1925. Her father, Edmond Petit, originated from Belgium, and her mother, Lucie Dumaine, was born in Ile des Chenes, MB.
She was predeceased by her parents, and four sisters, Marie-Ange, Thérèse, Agnès, Agnès (Petit) Haddock and her brothers, Albert and René.
Along with the members of her religious Congregation, she leaves to mourn her passing, her sister Thérèse Chartrand (Alfred), one brother, Ernest (Rolande Johnson), two sisters-in-law, Jeannette (Manaigre) Petit, Gauvin and Lucille (Chabot) Petit and a brother-in-law, Edouard Haddock.
Prayers are on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Villa Aulneau, 601 Aulneau, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the same address. Father Fernand Desjardins will preside the celebration.
Inhumation of the ashes will take place on the same day at 3:30 p.m. in the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
The Missionary Oblate Sisters of St. Boniface express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Actionmarguerite St. Boniface for their care and compassion.
