Obituary of Marilyn Redfern
REDFERN, Marilyn
Peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2019 in her 88th year, Marilyn Redfern (nee Eyre), beloved wife of the late Bryant Redfern (2014). Loving mother of Scott Redfern (Kathy Doherty), Michelle Redfern (Brian Bradshaw), Arden Redfern (Dave Rannie). Much loved grandmother of Eliza and Shea. Predeceased by her siblings, Doris Plant, Roger Eyre and Donna Jean Fairbanks. Lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Mary Purdy. Marilyn worked as a Case Worker and Executive Director for Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was instrumental in organizing the steering committee which led to the opening of Telecare Brant County, a 24-hour distress line, as well as volunteering at Burtch Correctional Centre. Marilyn’s passions were travel, golf, tennis, bridge and refinishing antiques. She loved summers sitting on the deck at Long Point. Marilyn was known for her quick wit and sense of humour. Thank you to the staff at John Noble Home (Grand Terrace) for their tender and compassionate care. Family and friends will be received at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. If wished, memorial donations to Unicef Canada or Amnesty International Canada gratefully appreciated.
