Faye Evelyn Snyder (Wadstein) passed into the arms of the God she loved and served so faithfully on Palm Sunday, April 14, 2019. Faye will be lovingly remembered by her children: Bob (Grace) Snyder [Big River, SK], Deborah (Silvano) DeBortoli [Chestermere, AB], and Vicky (Raymond) Renaud [Airdrie, AB]; her ten grandchildren: Stacey (Jason) Nickel, Lindsey (Ryan) Snyder-Graham, Amanda (Brock) Debenham, Lacey (Aaron) Detka, Nicholas (Bailey) DeBortoli, Logan (Dionne) Renaud, Dali Snyder, Tiffany Sullivan, Jennifer (Jason) Madge, and Rosie (Pat) LaHoullier; her sixteen Great-Grandchildren; her siblings: Roy (Donna) Wadstein, Linda (Stan) Krause, and Norma (Gordon) Reimchen-Canfield; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Faye was predeceased by her husband, Bob, who died on Good Friday, 1998; her parents, Walter and Leola Wadstein; her mother and father-in-law, Ernest and Daisy Snyder; her sister-in-law Phyllis Iverson; her brother-in-law, Helmuth Reimchen; and her niece, Janice Domenjoz.
Faye was born in Coronation, Alberta and went to school in Duhamel and New Norway. She moved to Calgary to pursue her Nurse’s Aid career, where she met her husband, Bob. They were married October 6, 1956 and lived in Mayland Heights in Calgary for over 37 years. She was an avid quilter and generously gave away well over a hundred hand-made quilts over the years. She lived every day by the motto, “It is better to give than to receive”. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 20 years.
A celebration of Faye’s life will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 1:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 4910 Northmount Drive, Wetaskiwin, AB. Please wear bright colors to celebrate her “homecoming”. Faye’s family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Unit 43 at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and for their wonderful care.
