Edgar “Mac” MacGregor 1934-2019 Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on April 19th 2019, at the age of 84. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his sons: Paul (Miranda) and Patrick (Josée Demers), his beautiful loving grand-children: Vincent (Chloé Carrière), Éliane and Marie-Claude, his two remaining sisters: Madeleen (Omer Carrière) and Frances (Edmund Polnicky). He was predeceased by the love of his life, his spouse Cécile Sirois MacGregor, his parents Lawrence MacGregor and Nellie Maranda aslo by his brothers and sisters: Margerite (Godfroy Demers), Hubert (Elizabeth Swaine), Chester (Julienne Rochon), Kathleen (Wilfrid Poirier) and Walter (Lucienne Campeau). He is survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. He will also be missed by his friends at the Knights of Columbus, Tim Horton’s and St-Jude’s Parish. “Mac” was a respected member of the Hawkesbury Police Force where he worked for 30 years. Many will recall the Jewelry store robbery in 1982 when he and his partner were casted in hero roles following a shootout endangering their lives. After his retirement, he switched his uniform to work as a court security officer with the Ontario Provincial Police at the L’Orignal court house and also for many years at the ‘La Cité’ gold course. He will be remembered for his love of music and singing, which he enjoyed right until his last breath … Un merci spécial au docteur Éric Laviolette et Valery Rossbach ainsi qu’au personnel dévoué de l’Hôpital Général de Hawkesbury. Grand, sérieux, imposant et pourtant aucune once de malice, sa simple présence instaurait le calme et le respect. Un ‘’grand’’ homme dans tous les sens du mot! On t’aime ‘Gros Mac’ !
La direction des funérailles a été confiée au Funéraire familial Berthiaume 416, rue McGill, Hawkesbury, Ontario (877) 632-8511.
Les obsèques auront lieu en l’églie St-Jude’s de Hawkesbury le samedi 4 mai 2019 à 11 h. La famille sera présente à compter de 10 h pour recevoir vos condoléances.
