Beulah’s Obituary
KEDDY, Beulah Natalie – on September 20, 1920, Beulah Natalie was born to Louisa and George Adams, in Bear Point, Nova Scotia. She was a younger sister for Olive (Eugene Newell), Erma (Wilbert Greenwood), Nellie (Howard Illsley) and older sister for Kendrick (Delores Swim) and Lorraine (Hilda O’Connell). At the age of 10, she moved to Shag Harbour with her older sisters and parents. In her young adulthood, she worked in a Cotton Mill in Yarmouth, Fish Plant in Shag Harbour and a Motel in Shelburne. She came to Berwick at age 27 to work for M.W. Graves Ltd. She met and married her husband, Harold Brown Keddy. They had two daughters, Louise (Henry Endres) and Carla (Mike Lewis). While her daughters were growing up, she was a stay at home mother. In her middle years, she spent many happy times with her two grandchildren, Tonia and Kyle. She had lots of great memories of those years. There were trips to Bermuda, North Carolina, Florida, Alberta and British Columbia with her husband. He died in 1996. She was involved with the Berwick Seniors Group, her good friends, neighbours and many nieces and nephews. During her latter years, she was often seen at Berwick “Timmies”, in the afternoons with her special friend, Dot Keddy. Her grandson, Kyle gave her three great grandchildren, Westin and a set of twins, Emery and Hyatt. She enjoyed their visits, hearing stories and seeing pictures of them. She stayed in her home, on Thomas Street, until October of 2012. At this time she moved to Fundy Villa and then to Evergreen Home for Special Care, She died there on February 10, 2019. A time in celebration of Beulah’s life will take place from 2-4 p.m., Friday, April 26, in Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Hall, 300 Commercial St., Berwick. A family interment will be in Berwick Cemetery. Donations to Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
