Wendy Hatfield
1947-2019
New
Glasgow : Wendy Suzanne Hatfield age 71 of New Glasgow
passed away on Friday March 29th ,2019 in the
Aberdeen Hospital ,New Glasgow.
Born in
New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Hazel
(Woolley) Hatfield.
Wendy was
a survivor and battled her disease of von Hippel-Lindau for 43 years
with determination and a positive outlook on life. She will be dearly
missed by family, her special friend Sarah Jane , her little dog
Willie ,her cousins Bev, Jessie and Nancy and many dear
friends and cousins.
Wendy
graduated from East Pictou Rural High ,
went on to Teachers College and graduated from Dalhousie
University . She taught in several schools in Pictou County , also in
Newfoundland and Coppermine ,NWT. After
retirement she spent her winters in
Florida and her summers at her cottage in Chance
Harbour. Her cottage was her pride and joy and she spent many hours
attending to her beautiful gardens and walking the
beach.
Surviving are her brother Clifford and his
wife Linda , sister Wanda , nephew Jason . Wendy was a wonderful
sister , daughter ,aunt and friend. She would do anything
for her family and gave endless support to them all
throughout her lifetime.
She was
predeceased by her parents and nephew
Danny.
Cremation
has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4
&7-9 P.M. on Saturday April 6 ,2019 in the H.W.Angus Funeral
Home . A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held at a later
date.
In lieu
of flowers donations may be made to The Lodge that Gives ,Halifax
, the Pictou County SPCA , or to a charity of
