Obituary for Peter Strydonck
Surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 4, 2019 at C.E.E. Hospital of Bluewater Health, Petrolia. PETER STRYDONCK, of Petrolia, has gone on to his glorious reward in heaven, in his 90th year. Papa Pete was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and dear friend to many. He is survived by his children; Ron (Janice), Ken (Cris), Jennifer (Shawn) Francis, Mary Jane (Richard) Sonck, Joanne (Tony) Beaulieu, and Tim (Dianne), his grandchildren; Jeremy Strydonck, David (Jenna) Strydonck, James Strydonck, Anthony (Karen) Sonck, Joshua Sonck, Michael (Nicole) Sonck, Andrew (Maygin Codling) Beaulieu, Jessica (Phil) Vriesinga, Justin Beaulieu, Nathan Beaulieu, Erica (Scott) Whitehead, Kristina (Terry) Pickett, Jonathan (Mary) Strydonck, Emily Strydonck, Mia Strydonck and ten great grandchildren. Peter was predeceased his wives Mary (nee Mahu)(1999) and Rosine Tanguy (2007), grandchildren Elicia Strydonck and Nicholas Sonck and his siblings Frank (the late Alice and the late Anne) Strydonck, Desire (the late Anna) Strydonck and Alphonse (the late Madeline) Strydonck and sisters Angela (the late Joseph) DeVrieze, Elsie (the late Mike) Reinbold, Martha (Japp) Overdulve, Magdalena (the late Marcel) Sonck, Annie (Frank) Bourdeau, and Emile (Elisabeth) Strydonck. Everyone knew Peter by his infectious smile, kind heart and warm hugs. We take comfort in knowing he is dancing in heaven now, free of pain and reunited with all who were waiting for him to come home.
Visitors will be received on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. Prayers will be offered on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. A funeral mass celebrating Peter’s life will be held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Philip’s Church, King St., Petrolia. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society or C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (www.ceehf.ca).
