After 95 years of an incredible life, Nicolina left us on February 25, 2019.
She joined in Heaven her beloved husband Giovanni, her parents Tommaso and Evelina Minutillo, her brothers Michele and Angelantonio and all those who went before her.
Nicolina was born in Santa Croce di Roccaromana, a small village in the province of Caserta, Italy. She was the oldest of three children. She sadly lost her mother when she was four years old. She and her two brothers that were three and two years old were then raised by their father. Nicolina was very close to her brothers that predeceased her.
Nicolina was a religious woman, devoted to God, the Virgin Mary, and St. Padre Pio. She loved to read, especially anything to do with Italian politics. She knew the names of all the Italian politicians and enjoyed having political discussions. Her passions were sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Nicolina was cherished by her daughters Lena (Maddalena) and Evelina. She will be dearly missed by her sisters –in-law Agnese, Marietta, Maria, Vittoria (Italy), brother-in-law Mario and her many nieces , nephews and friends in Canada and Italy.
Visitation will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Thursday February 28 from 6-9 p.m. and Friday March 1 from 2-4, 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church (2 Richardson Ave. – Eglinton Ave., east of Keele St.) on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Ave. W., east of Caledonia Rd.).
In memory of Nicolina, donations may be made to her Church, Immaculate Conception Church (Toronto). Envelopes are provided in the funeral home.
