Obituary for
Jerry Lorne Benoit
Fleet Supervisor – Ottawa Police Service
After battling lung cancer at the age of 60. Jerry is predeceased by his parents Wilfred and
Gladys (nee Chevrier), his sister Lorraine Martinelli (Pierre), and brothers Kenneth and Gary. He
leaves behind his sister Diane Barbeau (Gabriel), his aunt June Borutski, his nephew Philippe
(Betty Boisvert), his nieces Melanie Barbeau, Valerie (Adam Leclerc) and Natalie Martinelli. He
also leaves behind his great nephews Austin and Benjamin Leroux and Logan Leclerc, and his
great niece Nova Adelle Barbeau. He will be sadly missed by his former co-workers, his helpful
neighbours, many cousins as well as lifelong friends, Richard Landry, Pierre and Joanne
Martinelli. Many thanks to doctors and staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre and also the
nurses and doctors at Bruyere for their dedication and caring. Family and friends are invited to
visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on
Wednesday, April 3 from 6-8pm and Thursday, April 4 from 9:30 until time of Funeral Service in
the Chapel at 11am. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
