It is with heavy hearts that the family of Irene Ethel (Sherrard) Price of Fredericton, NB, announce her passing on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital, with her loving family by her side. Irene endured a long courageous battle with a myriad of health complications that included organ involvement.

Born on July 20th, 1941, in Whitney, NB., Irene was the daughter of the late Allan Sherrard, of North-West Miramichi, NB, and Ruby (Whitney) Sherrard, of Whitney, NB.

In addition to her parents, Irene was recently predeceased by her husband of 55 years, David Eugene Price.
She is survived by, one daughter:
Jill Andrea Price of Fredericton, NB, two sons:
Michael David Price (Josee), of St. Catharines, ON., Jason Jeremy Allan Price (Leanne) of Saskatoon, SK., and three much loved grandchildren: Hayden, Bronwyn, & Nolan Price. She is also survived by her 3 sisters: Gwen Childs (John) of New Maryland, NB, Winnie Colburne (Stewart) of Calgary, AB., & Sharon McIntyre of Utah, as well as several nieces & nephews, and many other relatives & friends in Miramichi, NB., throughout Canada, & the USA.

Born: July 20, 1941 Death: February 28, 2019

Irene worked for the province of N.B. for 36 years, ending her career as an HR Management Consultant for the central government of NB.
Even though she retired early, she thoroughly enjoyed her long career with the PNB.

During her retirement years, she enjoyed playing piano, gardening, long walks, hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing. She loved being near the water & out in the sun, enjoying the family’s summer place along the Miramichi River (Whitney, NB), and spending Winters in Florida with her husband.

As an active member at Church, Irene was a Choir member for nearly 40 years, and was involved in various other church activities. She was also involved in the

Alzheimer Society of NB’s Support group, Memory Cafe, and a “Family Advocacy” representative member at York Care Centre.
Lovingly known as “Reenie”(to those closest to her), she valiantly supported her husband through several years of illness, all while dealing with her own health challenges with grace, dignity, & a sense of humour. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, relative, friend, & neighbor, and we’ve all been truly blessed to have her in our lives.
Irene was a very sociable, kind, compassionate, loving person. She was a “generous giver” of her time & talents, having a special gift for taking others “under her wing”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Irene was thankful for the kind, caring, support of her family, friends, & neighbors. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the exceptional team of medical professionals who treated her with such kind compassionate care, throughout her long difficult health journey.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of both Irene & David’s life followed by interment will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, 75 Main Street in the spring. The announcement for the spring service will follow. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Lupus Canada, St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Building Fund, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
