Doreen Young
Doreen Young passed
away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital this week. She will
be sadly missed by her three children, Mark, Helen and Rachel, and by
her seven adoring grandchildren; Olivia, Jasmine, Miranda,
Graham, Gillian, Mitchell
and Daniel.
Her life was full of love and
music, and she was an adventurous spirit as well. She left
her beloved Yorkshire to travel to Namibia for a few years
followed by her final destination of New Brunswick. She
believed strongly in family and education, and worked tirelessly with
NB Home and School Associations to try and get kindergarten as a part
of the education system in New Brunswick. She was also a
talented cake decorator, long before Cake Boss was on the
air.
She was a devoted wife and
mother, and showered affection on all her children and grandchildren.
She taught all of her children the value of kindness and
fairness and was never known to say a mean spirited thing to anyone.
She was a wonderful singer as well, and added a lovely voice
to the various choirs she was part of. Singing in church was
a favourite pastime and she practiced it until she could no
longer.
A Service to
celebrate and honour Doreen’s life will be held at St.
Andrew’s Anglican Church, 105 Elmwood Drive, on Saturday,
March 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rob Salloum
officiating.
