Dobronyi, Alexander ‘Alex’ Steven

Passed away peacefully with family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, March 30th, 2019, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Emma for 62 years: his “Polly”, best friend and love of his life. Loving father of Tom (Sue), Mark (Philippa), Steve (Christine) and Lynne (Tony). Loving Grandpa of Sydney, Isabelle, Thom, Lili, Adam, Chris, Ben, Paul, Alex, Eric, and Great-Grandpa of Cameron, Harper and Quinn. Alex was a professional engineer who retired as General Manager of the London Public Utilities Commission in 1993, after 40 years of dedicated service. He generously gave back to his profession serving on numerous boards and committees. Alex enjoyed spending time with his family, and playing golf or cards with his many friends. He was an avid gardener and expertly completed his daily crossword puzzle. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Friday, April 5th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment at Holy Family Mausoleum. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Alex are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program.
