Wilfred Conrad Zunti
October 12, 1926 – February 16, 2019

Wilfred passed away peacefully at Saskatoon City Hospital on February 16, 2019. He will be greatly missed by his children Mark (Cheryl) of St. Albert, Dan (Kelly) of Saskatoon, Marcella (Hubert) of Winnipeg, and Hugh (Teri) of Ladysmith, and grandchildren Jordan, Justin (Lindsey), Jocelyn (Derek), Ashton (Chelsey), Brock (Katelyn), Colton (Nicole), Damien (Kevynn), Katelyn (Rob), Gabrielle (Luc), Dominique, Brayden and Devyn, and great-grandchildren Kylie, Kaige, Talon, Parker, Charlotte, Catherine and Lydia. Wilfred also leaves behind well-loved brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and good friends.
Wilfred was born and raised on the Zunti family farm in the RM of Grass Lake near Luseland, SK. He attended Deer Lodge school before completing his high school education in Luseland. He worked summers on the farm and spent winters at various jobs; construction in Vancouver, mining in Sudbury, and oil field work across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In 1958, he purchased the family farm. Wilfred met his wife, Bernadette McDonald, in Vancouver. They married and raised their four children on the farm. They enjoyed the hard work and community experiences that small-town, farm-life provided. Later they divided their time between the farm and a home in Saskatoon.
After Bernadette’s passing in 2012, Wilfred eventually sold the century-old family farm. In 2015, he moved into Trinity Manor where he enjoyed many friendships, both old and new.
The family is very grateful for the many years of exceptional care from Dr Baltzan and Dorothy, more recently, the Trinity Manor care team and finally, the staff of City Hospital’s Transitional Care unit who were especially compassionate during Dad’s last days.
